Sam Lloyd played Ted Buckland in almost 100 episodes on smash comedy Scrubs and sadly passed away after being diagnosed with cancer of the brain and lungs – he received his diagnosis shortly after welcoming a son.
Scrubs’ Sam Lloyd dead at 56
Scrubs star Sam Lloyd has died following a battle with cancer.
The TV actor was just 56-years-old and last year had revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer of the brain and lungs just weeks after welcoming a son named Weston with his wife, Vanessa.
News broke of Sam’s sad passing on Friday, with Scribs co-star Zach Braff, 45, among the first to pay tribute to the comedy actor.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Zach – who played John ‘JD’ Dorian on the comedy series – shared happy memories and insight into working with Sam as he paid tribute to his friend and colleague.
He tweeted: “Rest In Peace to one of the funniest actors I’ve ever had the joy of working with. Sam Lloyd made me crack up and break character every single time we did a scene together.
He added: “He could not have been a kinder man. I will forever cherish the time I had with you, Sammy.”
