Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds’ hotly anticipated new movie Free Guy has had its score revealed on Rotten Tomatoes, entering the rankings at an impressive 83 per cent.
Free Guy rated Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes as score
Free Guy follows a non-player character (NPC) in a video game who begins to question his own reality and becomes aware that he’s living in a video game. The film follows his journey as he teams up with another NPC to try and destroy the game.
Alongside Reynolds, it also stars Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer and Jojo Rabbit’s Taika Waititi. Entering Rotten Tomatoes’ revered rankings today, it received 34 ‘Fresh’ scores from critics, and just seven ‘Rotten’ scores.
The sci-fi action comedy film was directed by Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum”). The cast includes “Killing Eve’s” Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lil Rel Howery and “Jojo Rabbit’s” Taika Waititi. The film follows a bank teller (Reynolds) discovering he’s actually a “nonplayer character” inside an open-world video game.
For Guy (Ryan Reynolds) though, Free City is his home, as he’s unaware that he’s just an NPC – a Non-Player Character to any non-gamers out there. He’s a bank teller who enjoys the simple life with his goldfish and best friend Buddy (Lil Rel Howery) who works as a security guard at the bank.
